We have spent many years learning the art of coin grading and we can provide our opinion of the grade of your coins. While we do have years of training and experience in grading coins, we do not officially certify your coins. If you want your coins professionally graded and encapsulated in a plastic holder, we are an authorized dealer submitter for NGC and PCGS and would be happy to submit your coins on your behalf. You would simply pay the NGC or PCGS fees. We do not add any charges for this service.
Just because a coin is old doesn’t make it valuable. For example, many ancient coins from 2000 years ago are worth just a few dollars. Many factors determine the value of a coin, and we can help you gain a better understanding of why your coins are valuable (or not).
Simply stated, NEVER clean your coins. Cleaning them will severely reduce their value by doing irreversible damage which makes them less desirable to collectors.
Be very cautious about doing research on Google, Etsy, or similar websites. There is an incredible amount of BAD information out there. We suggest that you bring your coins to us for a free, honest, no-obligation evaluation.
While we don’t claim to be able to predict the metals markets, we have seen a large increase in people coming to us to buy both gold and silver, in part due to worries about the economy. Gold and silver have proven to be excellent hedges against inflation over the years.
In 1943, the U.S. Mint began using zinc coated steel to produce cents as copper was needed for the war effort. 1943 steel cents are not rare. Indeed, over 1 billion were minted and they are worth about the same as other common-date wheat cents.
